A stunning piece of work. You have created a very interesting mood in this image. The way the light plays with the bricks and cobblestones works extremely well. I like the way that you have downplayed the modern parts of the lane at the far end. There are some obvious signs that this alley leads to an updated and modern area, yet this is downplayed quite nicely. I like the way that our eyes walk down the street, exploring every nook and cranny. We've seen this type of a shot attempted many time, and you have brought it off beautifully.

I also like the nice star effect around the main light source in this image. That adds to the mood and suggests a bit of fog that may or may not be there.

The only thing I found a little bit distracting was the large black part along the left side of the image, where all shadow detail is lost. My eyes keep jumping there, but really it shouldn't be. Perhaps a slightly different crop to reduce it a bit?

Regardless, you have produced a fantastic image here!

This has to be in my top 5 favourite black and white photographs, it is just fantastic! It has this old timely, pre WWI feel about it which i adore, you technique is amazing.
The atmosphere abot the alley way is quite dark and somewhat mysterious.
Tha boldness of the brick work then slowly getting lighter towards the buildings in the distance is perfect.
I really like how bright the light is there, it gives the picture a night time feel (it probably is XD)

To be completely honest with you there is nothing I can criticize in this picture.
